Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi finished second at a ski jumping World Cup meet Saturday in Lake Placid, upstate New York, for his third consecutive runner-up result.
The reigning Olympic normal hill champion had jumps of 125.5 and 122.0 meters for 278.1 points, 0.8 behind Slovenia's Lovro Kos, who picked up his first career win.
Norway's Marius Lindvik rounded out the podium with 277.8.
"I had very good jumps," Kobayashi said. "I felt like I was riding (in the wind) for the first time. I'm really happy that I'm getting results consistently."
Kobayashi also competed in the super team large hill event held the same day, teaming up with Ren Nikaido to finish fourth. Austria won, followed by Germany and Norway.
