The 6-foot-2 Tominaga, who represented Japan in 3x3 basketball at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, played in all 32 games for Nebraska in the 2022-23 season and averaged 13.1 points per game, the second most on the team.

He scored at least 20 points in five consecutive games at one stage.

The 22-year-old Aichi Prefecture native has already made his 5x5 senior national team debut and may play for Japan again during this summer's FIBA World Cup, at which Paris Olympic berths are on the line.

Before transferring to Nebraska, Tominaga spent two seasons at Ranger College in Texas, helping the team to an NJCAA National Tournament semifinals appearance in 2021.

In the 2019 NBA Draft, Rui Hachimura became the first player from Japan to be selected in the first round -- the ninth pick overall by the Washington Wizards.

The forward was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers this past January.
