Japan's Sara Takanashi missed out on her third straight World Cup win Thursday, finishing second on the normal hill at Rasnov, Romania.

Takanashi, who picked up her first two wins of the season on Feb. 6 and 7 in Hinzenbach, Austria, leaped for 88 and 93.5 meters for 232.9 total points. Slovene Nika Kriznar won with a combined score of 235.7.

Kriznar landed 92- and 91-meter jumps to claim her second career win. Norway's Silje Opseth was third on 230.1 points. It was the third-straight podium finish for both Takanashi and Opseth, while Kriznar's was her fourth straight after her maiden victory on Feb. 5.

The 24-year-old Takanashi has five podium finishes from eight World Cup jumps this season.
