The 24-year-old beat out Friday's winner Nika Kriznar of Slovenia by 0.4 point at Hinzenbach, Austria, where Japan's ace has now collected seven of her record 58 career World Cup victories.

"Honestly I'm really happy with this," Takanashi said. "My regrets (over disqualification) gave me a boost."

She took a big lead with 121.2 points from the first of her two 90-meter jumps and only just passed Kriznar with her final jump.

Takanashi led qualifying for the second straight day but this time made it to the finals. Japanese university student Nozomi Maruyama was sixth, for the best finish of her career.
