Miura joined Oliveirense from Yokohama FC on loan in February last year, playing three games that season. He remained with Oliveirense this past season on another loan spell and played in five games, but again, he could not register a goal.

"From the moment I got up to going to bed, I spent my time solely thinking about football," Miura said after arriving at Haneda airport. "It was good in that sense, but I can't say my output has been good as long as I play in matches as a professional and results aren't coming my way."

After playing in his fifth country abroad following stints in Brazil, Italy, Croatia and Australia, Miura said he is considering joining a club in Japan, claiming the chances of him carrying on at Oliveirense are "low."

"It's really important that I stay happy while playing football," he said.

Miura also joked about looking for a chance to team up with former Brazil World Cup star Romario after the 58-year-old came out of retirement last month to join Brazilian side America Football Club in Rio de Janeiro.

"It'd be fun to play as a front two together. I'll be waiting for the offer," Miura said.

Miura was central to the rise of Japanese football's popularity following the launch of the J-League in 1993 and scored 55 goals in 89 games for his country.
