Japan's IBF minimumweight world champion Ginjiro Shigeoka will fight sixth-ranked contender Jake Amparo of the Philippines on Sunday, promoter Koki Kameda revealed Wednesday on social media site X after the champion's intended opponent withdrew due to illness.

The bout will take place at Nagoya Congress Center, where Shigeoka was to take on ArAr Andales, also of the Philippines.

On Monday, Andales' side said he was unable to fight, citing stomachache, dizziness and low blood sugar as among his symptoms.
