Japan's Tsubaki Miki won the women's parallel giant slalom at an alpine snowboarding World Cup round Thursday in Slovenia, securing her first victory of the season and second of her career on the circuit.

Miki, last season's world champion, finished second in the qualification round to advance to the 16-woman knockout stage in Rogla. She edged Michelle Dekker of the Netherlands in the final by 0.03 seconds.

The 20-year-old's only previous World Cup win was in March 2022, when she won a parallel slalom event.
