Japanese ski jumper Ryoyu Kobayashi won the prestigious Four Hills Tournament for the third time Saturday with a second-place finish in the final leg in Austria's Bischofshofen.

The 27-year-old claimed the Golden Eagle Trophy with 1,145.2 points after placing second in all four of the World Cup events in Germany and Austria that comprise the tournament.

Germany's Andreas Wellinger was second with 1,120.7 and Austria's Stefan Kraft third with 1,112.7.

Home favorite Kraft won Saturday's round with jumps of 136.5 and 140.0 meters for a 288.9-point total. Kobayashi finished 1.3 points back after jumping 137.0 and 139.0.

"I am happy," Kobayashi told Eurosport. "Today, there were too many things happening, but I concentrated on jumping and was really satisfied."

Kobayashi, who won normal hill gold and large hill silver at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, has yet to win a World Cup event this season despite consistently reaching the podium.

He won his first Four Hills title in 2019 and was crowned champion again two seasons ago.

The Iwate Prefecture native is just the sixth man to win three or more Golden Eagles, joining the likes of Finnish great Janne Ahonen, a five-time champion, and Poland's Kamil Stoch.
