Japan attacker Takumi Minamino scored a goal and set up another as Monaco were beaten 5-2 away from home by Paris Saint-Germain on Friday in the French Ligue 1.

Minamino lashed home with his left foot to level 1-1 in the 22nd minute after PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, under pressure from Monaco forward Folarin Balogun, passed the ball straight to the former Liverpool man at Parc des Princes.

Goncalo Ramos tapped in the 18th-minute opener and Kylian Mbappe restored the lead with a 39th-minute penalty for PSG. Minamino could have leveled again in the 45th minute but his shot was finger-tipped by Donnarumma for a corner, and another close-range effort was denied once more by the Italian two minutes after the break.

Ousmane Dembele drilled home PSG's third from a tight angle in the 70th minute and Vitinha curled in off the post two minutes later. Minamino's fine turn and through ball allowed Balogun to roll home Monaco's second in the 75th minute, but Randal Kolo Muani netted to complete the scoring deep in stoppage time.

Minamino started his second season at Monaco brightly after scoring three goals in the opening three games to win the Ligue 1 Player of the Month award for August. He had not scored since until Friday, however, with his fourth goal this term also coming in his first start in three games.

The result saw leaders PSG move up to 30 points, while Monaco remained third on 24 points.
