Kyogo Furuhashi netted his first-ever Champions League goal for Celtic, but the Hoops finished their Group E clash with Lazio emptyhanded Wednesday after Pedro scored in added time to snatch a 2-1 win for the visiting Serie A side.

Japan internationals Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate also started for the Scottish football champions, while Daichi Kamada lined up for Lazio at Celtic Park.

Furuhashi slipped behind the defensive line and calmly fired past Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel to give Celtic a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute, with Hatate involved in the buildup before Matt O'Riley provided the assist.

"I want to help all my teammates by scoring goals," said Furuhashi, who had struggled to replicate his prolific Scottish Premiership scoring in Europe.

Lazio playmaker Matias Vecino canceled out the opener in the 29th minute, sending the contest into halftime all square at 1-1.

Substitute Luis Palma appeared to score a late winner for Celtic, but saw his 82nd-minute strike was waved off for offside.

Brendan Rodgers' side looked set to share the points until substitute Pedro broke the deadlock in the 95th minute, heading in the winner after finding himself in space at the back post.

The result leaves Celtic winless from their last 10 games in European tournaments, with two draws and eight losses.

In the other Group E match, Atletico Madrid defeated Feyenoord 3-2, with Japan striker Ayase Ueda playing until the 60th minute for the visiting Dutch champions.
