In a match to unify the International Boxing Federation mini flyweight title, interim champion Ginjiro Shigeoka of Japan will face Mexican champion Daniel Valladares on Aug. 11 in Osaka, Shigeoka's Watanabe Gym said Friday.

Shigeoka became interim champion in April with a ninth-round knockout of the Philippines' Rene Mark Cuarto, three months after his title challenge against Valladares was declared a no-contest due to an accidental head butt in the third round.

"I want there to be a clear winner and loser between us," Shigeoka said. "One champion is enough. I'm confident of winning."

Valladares said in an online interview that he will try to knock out Shigeoka while being careful to prevent another no-decision.

Ahead of their fight at Edion Arena Osaka, Shigeoka owns a 9-0 record with seven knockouts and one no-contest, while Valladares is 26-3-1, with 15 wins by knockout, and one no-contest.

On the same day Shigeoka claimed the interim title in April, his older brother Yudai Shigeoka became the World Boxing Council's interim straw weight champion.
