Taiga Hasegawa led the first-ever Japanese sweep of an FIS snowboard big air World Cup podium Saturday.
The 17-year-old Hasegawa won his maiden World Cup title with 186.00 points as the 2022-23 big air season came to a close in Kreischberg, Austria.
Ryoma Kimata, 20, scored 182.50 points for second place, and World Cup debutant Kira Kimura, 18, rounded out the podium with 181.75 points, 1.75 ahead of fourth-place Valentino Guseli of Australia.
"I just tried to lay down two good runs no matter what, and that led to the result," Hasegawa said. "I felt good about my speed and body movements."
Guseli and Japan's Reira Iwabuchi walked away as the season's big air crystal globe winners.
Iwabuchi's eighth-place finish in Kreischberg left her at the top of the season standings for the third time in her big air career.
"Missing the podium this time is disappointing, but I'm happy to be crowned (the season's) champion," Iwabuchi said.
Two-time Olympic big air champion Anna Gasser of Austria won the final event of the season with 179.75 points, 3.25 ahead of runner-up Zoi Sadowski Synnott of New Zealand.
Japan's Kokomo Murase, who took bronze at last year's Beijing Olympics, was third with 174.50 for her first podium finish of the season.
