Ski jumper Sara Takanashi is set to miss her first post-Beijing Olympics World Cup events in Hinzenbach, Austria, over the weekend, the Ski Association of Japan said Thursday.

Takanashi, whose 61 World Cup victories are more than any other man or woman, finished fourth in the women's competition at the Olympics this month in Beijing. In the mixed team competition, her first jump was disqualified due to a suit violation.

"Her future participation is yet to be decided," the SAJ statement said regarding Takanashi, who flew to Europe straight after the games to prepare for the rest of the season.

The SAJ will make a further announcement once her future participation is confirmed.

Takanashi offered apologies to the team and supporters in an Instagram post following the mixed team event for costing them an Olympic medal along with a black space instead of a photo, to which tens of thousands replied with encouraging messages.

The mixed team event, which made its games debut this month, saw five other female jumpers from four countries also having jumps chalked off for the same suit infringement.

"I want to reflect on the situation I'm in at the moment and move ahead in order to compete in the wonderful sport of ski jumping," Takanashi said upon the closing of the Beijing Olympics in a comment released by the Japanese Olympic Committee.
