Hiroyuki Endo and Yuta Watanabe defeated Japanese compatriots Takeshi Kamura and Keigo Sonoda on Sunday to lift their second straight All England Open Badminton Championships men's doubles title.
Endo and Watanabe, the world's sixth-ranked men's pair, defeated their fifth-ranked opponents 21-15, 17-21, 21-11 in 1 hour, 8 minutes in the event in Birmingham, England.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, players from China, South Korea and Taiwan did not participate, while those from another strong badminton-playing nation, Indonesia, withdrew during the opening stages.
The women's doubles and mixed doubles are also all-Japanese finals, while the women's singles will see Japan's Nozomi Okuhara, ranked fourth in the world, take on world No. 11 Pornpawee Chochuwong of Thailand.
