The Washington Wizards exercised their option for Rui Hachimura's third year at the club next season, the NBA club said Monday.
The 22-year-old, selected ninth overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, averaged 13.5 points and 6.1 rebounds in 48 games last season and was named to the All-Rookie second team.
Hachimura is yet to play for the Wizards this season after he was diagnosed with bilateral epidemic keratoconjunctivitis, or EKC, on Dec. 16, with a mid-January return to action likely.
