The body of a female university student was found Sunday in a refrigerator at a Tokyo confectionery store run by her father, police said.

The body of Ibuki Kizu, 18, was discovered stuffed into the refrigerator and police said the victim appeared to have marks on her neck that would indicate pressure had been applied, but there were no other major wounds.

The 43-year-old father told a family member on the phone Saturday afternoon that he stabbed his daughter at the shop and he was going to jump into a river to commit suicide, according to the police.

Authorities had been unable to contact him but he was later found hanging next to a river in the city of Saitama, north of Tokyo.

He left home for work Saturday morning, while Ibuki, who lived with her parents and a younger brother, left home for her part-time job in the morning but did not arrive.
