Fernando Torres may have had the last word on the pitch Wednesday, but he said he and fellow Spaniard Andres Iniesta have plenty more to talk about in Japan.

Entering the game goalless in Japan, Torres scored the third and final goal in Sagan Tosu's 3-0 Emperor's Cup win over Vissel Kobe.

The former Spain internationals Torres and Iniesta both moved to the J-League after the World Cup, Torres with unfancied Sagan in Kyushu, southwestern Japan's main island, and Iniesta with Vissel in the cosmopolitan port city of Kobe.

"He is a good friend," Torres said of Iniesta after the game. "We've been playing against each other since we were 15. He's the best Spanish player ever."

"We've been talking over the last few weeks and chatting the last few days. Of course, on the pitch, everyone wants to win, but now we'll go back to chatting again."

Iniesta, with two goals from his last three league games, came off the bench with his side trailing 2-0 in the 56th minute. He energized the visitors but failed to get his team a goal.

Instead, it was the former Chelsea, Liverpool and Atletico Madrid forward Torres who opened his Japan account in the 64th minute, 20 minutes after coming on for his new club.

"Hopefully that was the first goal of many," Torres said.
