The United States and Russia agreed to hold a bilateral summit on July 16 in Finland, the two countries said Thursday.

U.S. President Donald Trump has said he expects to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin possibly after attending a summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization slated for July 11 to 12 in Brussels.

The two leaders may discuss the possibility of Russia rejoining the Group of Seven industrialized nations, Trump's national security adviser John Bolton said Wednesday.
