Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Kenta Maeda was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with a right hip strain.

Maeda was removed from his start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday in the second inning and a subsequent MRI revealed the injury, sending him to the disabled list for the second time in his career.

The 30-year-old Japanese was replaced by Dennis Santana, who was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City, on the roster.

Maeda is 4-4 with a 3.61 ERA in 11 games this season.

Meanwhile, Yu Darvish, who is on the 10-day DL with right triceps tendonitis, has been cleared of structural damage to his right arm, Chicago Cubs manager Joe Maddon said Wednesday.

"It doesn't sound awful and he'll get on his program. It's good news on his side pretty much," Maddon said.

Darvish was placed on the DL retroactive to May 23 and will be eligible to return this weekend.
