Ivanka Trump, the U.S. president's daughter and senior advisor, arrived in Japan on Thursday for a three-day stay ahead of a visit by her father.

Ivanka Trump is scheduled to give a speech at a symposium on women's empowerment in Tokyo on Friday morning before having dinner with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe that evening, according to the Japanese Foreign Ministry.

She will be joined at the fourth annual World Assembly for Women by more than 60 political, business and international organization representatives from Japan and overseas.

President Donald Trump will arrive Sunday with his wife Melania Trump on a separate three-day visit, during which he will hold talks, have a working lunch and play golf with Abe. The president will also meet with relatives of Japanese nationals abducted by North Korea.
