Japan have an opportunity to show their "overall strength" at the AFC Asian Cup in the United Arab Emirates with a win against final Group F opponents Uzbekistan, manager Hajime Moriyasu said Wednesday.

After arriving in the Emirates as one of the favorites, Japan have so far underwhelmed at the tournament despite winning their first two matches, but Moriyasu said his men can take things up a notch against Uzbekistan.

On the eve of the clash, Moriyasu said the Samurai Blue were determined to clinch the top spot by beating the Central Asian side currently leading the group on goal difference.

"The match (against Uzbekistan) will be a chance to show Japan's overall strength," Moriyasu said at the pre-match press conference. "We'll be playing to win."

"Although the match will decide the group winner, our ultimate aim is to win the tournament," he said.

After making few changes to his starting 11 in Japan's first two matches -- a 3-2 win over Turkmenistan and 1-0 defeat of Oman -- Moriyasu indicated a major lineup reshuffle for the last group-stage match, with a last 16 berth already guaranteed.

"It's my wish to use all of the players (at the tournament)," he said.

Uzbekistan, tipped as a dark horse at the tournament, followed their 2-1 opening defeat of Oman with a 4-0 thumping of Turkmenistan.

The White Wolves are currently ranked 95th in the world, 45 places below the Samurai Blue.

To top the group, Japan must beat Uzbekistan, who need only a draw to secure first place. Defending champions Australia await the runners-up in the last 16, while the winners will play the runners-up from Group E.
