Maasa Takahashi, a 37-year-old freelance TV announcer and the daughter of veteran actor Hideki Takahashi, said Tuesday she has tied the knot with her boyfriend one year her senior.

"I think it's important to continue (marriage) for a long time so I will do my best," said the former Fuji TV employee, who has married for the first time, while appearing live on Nippon TV's Sukkiri morning talk show. "I will try to be more thoughtful" to her husband, an office worker, she said.

On her blog, Takahashi wrote she realized, after submitting marriage papers to the local government, that "marriage, which I had thought was a goal, is actually a start" and that realization is a "sobering" feeling.

Later in the day, Yuko Ogura, a 35-year-old TV personality, announced her marriage to a dentist in his 40s through her agent.

It is the second marriage for Ogura, nicknamed "Yukorin" by fans. She wrote on her blog she feels "grateful that I can have meals with my family every day," and expressed her resolve to "build a warm home."
