Organizers of Anime Expo have announced the final two artists joining the June 30 line up for the 2017 Anisong World Matsuri starting April 29. The news went viral on the Internet among anime idol fans.
In addition to Wake Up, Girls! and JUNNA and Minori Suzuki from Walküre, now Aqours and THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS are set to join forces at Anisong World Matsuri.
Aqours come from the legendary idol anime, “Love Live! Sunshine!!”. THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS is a series born out of idol video game pioneer, “THE IDOLM@STER” franchise. Aqours were part of a special event at Anime Expo 2016. This time around all nine members of the unit will be in attendance at Anisong World Matsuri. Both units performing together on the same stage is a rarity, even in Japan. Fans in America then, will likely be considering themselves very lucky to have a chance to attend this event.

A school idol group born from the multimedia project “Love Live! Sunshine!!”, which launched in April 2015, work from Aqours appeared across a variety of media / forums including CDs, live events, magazines, and mobile apps as part of the project. The unit made their debut with the single “Kimi no Kokoro wa Kagayaiteru kai?” in October 2015 with the television anime airing the following summer in 2016. Aqours recently performed their first concerts at Yokohama Arena in February, 2017.
About THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS
“THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS” hail from the 2011-launched mobile game series THE IDOLM@STER. The unit is made up of more than 190 idols. The anime series first aired in January 2015 and was followed up with the release of rhythm game ”THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS Starlight Stage” in September 2015. For this year’s Anisong World Matsuri unit members Asami Takano, Haruka Yoshimura, Hiromi Igarashi, Rei Matsuzaki, Tomoyo Kurosawa and Yuko Iida will take to the stage for the special concert.
