The United States, Japan, and South Korea will announce Friday a "commitment to consult" trilaterally in times of "any security contingency," a high-ranking White House official said.
Ahead of a summit near Washington involving the three allies, U.S. President Joe Biden's national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, stated at a press conference that they will also initiate an early warning mechanism for supply chain disruptions. Sullivan emphasized that the summit is "not against anyone," including China.
