China said Tuesday that it expresses firm opposition to the latest decision by the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden to not send government officials to the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry also pledged to take countermeasures against the U.S. diplomatic boycott, saying it will hurt cooperation between the two major powers.
