International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach will visit North Korea after the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Reuters news agency reported Monday.

Bach will make the visit on the North's invitation as part of an agreement between the IOC, Pyongyang and Seoul, but the purpose of the trip has not been revealed. A date for the trip is still under discussion, Bach told Reuters in an interview.

Bach was quoted as saying, "All the parties concerned have welcomed this invitation to North Korea...We are talking about this convenient date in order to continue the dialogue on the sports side. We will see when this is going to happen."

The Winter Games in South Korea conclude on Feb. 25.

The IOC and the two Koreas signed a tripartite agreement on Jan. 20 in Lausanne, Switzerland, stating the details of North Korea's Olympic participation.

The North and South, who are technically still at war, marched together under a unified flag at the opening ceremony and formed a women's hockey team for the Pyeongchang Games, the first time a unified Korean team has competed at an Olympics.
