Yamashita shot a 2-under 70 to finish at 10-under 278, three strokes ahead of Sayaka Takahashi, at Miyazaki Country Club for her 11th career and third major victory on the Japan LPGA Tour.

Yamashita also took the money title for the second straight year in a row, adding 30 million yen ($201,000) from the season finale. She had four birdies and two bogeys in the final round.

"I won four times in the first half of the season but struggled to play my game in the second half, so I'm so happy to win the last tournament," said Yamashita, who is from Osaka Prefecture. "I stayed injury-free. It was a good year."

Yamashita entered the day with a two-shot lead and slipped into a share of the lead with Takahashi and Haruka Morita after bogeys on the third and fifth holes.

But she regrouped nicely with back-to-back birdies at eight and nine. She then took the outright lead with a birdie at the par-5 13th and picked up another shot on the par-3 16th as her closest rivals struggled on the back nine.

Takahashi carded a 70. Morita finished alone in third at 6 under after a 72.

South Korea's Shin Ji Yai (69) settled for a tie for fourth at 5 under, while Akie Iwai (71) was 24th at 4 over. Shin and Iwai finished second and third in the season points rankings, respectively.

On the men's JGTO Tour, 23-year-old Keita Nakajima clinched his first money title with a fourth-place finish at the Casio World Open, the season's penultimate event.
