Japan's national men's rugby team, the Brave Blossoms, will host a test against England next summer, the Japan Rugby Football Union said Thursday.

Japan and England are scheduled to play each other at this year's Rugby World Cup in France in their Sept. 17 Pool D match in Nice. England, currently ranked sixth in the world, has beaten 10th-ranked Japan in all 10 of their previous matches.

The contest on June 22, 2024, at a venue yet to be announced, will be England's first test match against the Brave Blossoms in Japan. Two tests slated for July 2020 in Oita and Kobe were canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
