Japan's Reira Iwabuchi won the women's snowboard big air competition Saturday at the Winter X Games in Aspen, finishing ahead of New Zealand's Olympic star Zoi Sadowski-Synnott.

The 21-year-old Iwabuchi totaled 87.00 for her two best runs, securing the title with a 1.0-point victory margin over Sadowski-Synnott, who won big air silver and slopestyle gold at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

Canada's Laurie Blouin rounded out the podium, while Japanese athletes filled the next four spots on the leaderboard, including 16-year-old Mari Fukada in fourth place and Beijing bronze medalist Kokomo Murase in sixth.

In the women's snowboard halfpipe, Japan's Ruki Tomita finished fourth as South Korea's Gaon Choi became the youngest-ever winner of the event at age 14, breaking the record set by two-time Olympic champion Chloe Kim of the United States.
