Japan's Yui Susaki won the women's 50-kilogram category to claim her third wrestling world title on Wednesday, with Miwa Morikawa joining in the success by taking her maiden gold at 65 kg.

Susaki cruised past Otgonjargal Dolgorjav of Mongolia with a first-period fall in the final in Belgrade as the 23-year-old ended the tournament without conceding a point from her four matches.

"I'm really happy to have wrestled in the final. I wanted to win the title in a dominant manner," said Susaki. "I wanted to be brave and the one to start the attack."

"I want to go back to Japan to train and get even stronger."

Susaki, standing at 155 centimeters, started out cautiously against the smaller Dolgorjav but had no trouble rolling her over onto her back to win in 1 minute, 24 seconds.

Eager to further elevate herself by studying the techniques of male European wrestlers since winning the Tokyo Games, Susaki has a second Olympic gold in Paris firmly in her sights.

"It's really fun at training now I have broadened my perspective. I'm throwing down the gauntlet to achieve a great thing in the shape of second straight Olympic gold," she said.

Morikawa, runner-up last year, edged Long Jia of China 2-0 in the final and celebrated with a back flip, although she was unhappy with her failure to add to her early advantage having led in the first period by scoring a stepout and an activity point.

"I'm happy to have won but not at all satisfied with how the match went," said the 23-year-old, who had a friendly rivalry with Susaki during their time in high school in Tokyo and is currently coached by four-time Olympic champio Kaori Icho.

"I will rate it a 50 out of 100...It was frustrating I could not show my strength. I will keep aiming higher," she said.
