Japan's Anju Nakamura came second in a personal best in the women's skiing Nordic combined World Cup on Saturday, her first podium finish of the season arriving at the sixth individual meet in Val di Fiemme in Italy.

The 21-year-old topped the 5-kilometer mass start clocking 15 minutes, 8.9 seconds before leaping for 91.5 meters with her jump to score 110.5 points. She overall placed behind winner Gyda Westvold Hansen of Norway, who has claimed all six meets of the season.

Austrian Lisa Hirner was third and Japan's Yuna Kasai, a 17-year-old who has two podium finishes this season, came fourth.
