Mizuho Bank said Thursday it experienced system trouble that caused delays in some of its money transfers for foreign exchange trades, the major Japanese bank's eighth system glitch this year.

The system failure affected 387 transactions, the bank said. Although Mizuho has identified the problem, it may not finish processing some of the transactions by the end of Thursday, it said.

The unit of Mizuho Financial Group Inc. has been hit by a series of system glitches this year, affecting automated teller machine operations and foreign currency remittances.
