A cargo plane of All Nippon Airways Co. bound for Tokyo's Haneda airport made an emergency landing Monday at Russia's Tolmachevo airport after its pilot briefly lost consciousness, according to Japan's transport ministry and other sources.

Flight 216, a Boeing 787 cargo plane that departed from Paris with eight people on board, landed at the airport in Novosibirsk in Siberia on Monday morning after the pilot complained of a health problem while in flight about 1,800 kilometers from Moscow, they said.

Concluding that the pilot was incapable of operating the aircraft normally, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has deemed it a serious incident.
