The 24-year-old Suzuki netted the winner in the 41st minute at Sint-Truiden's Stayen ground to bring his season tally to eight.

Japan international Daniel Schmidt played in goal for 14th-place Sint-Truiden, while Samurai Blue teammate Musashi Suzuki started up front for the seventh-place visitors.

Suzuki's scoring run coincides with a three-match winning streak for Japanese-owned Sint-Truiden, who sacked Australian manager Kevin Muscat at the start of the month after just two victories from his 14 games in charge.

The Chiba Prefecture native joined Sint-Truiden in July last year from the J-League's Kashima Antlers, with whom he won the 2018 Asian Champions League and was named the tournament's most valuable player.
