Japanese women's basketball star Ramu Tokashiki has torn an anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee, her club ENEOS Sunflowers said Saturday, likely ruling her out of next summer's Tokyo Olympics.

The 193-centimeter power forward, who helped lead Japan to the last eight at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, suffered the injury during the Sunflowers' national championship match on Wednesday against Fujitsu Red Wave.

"I'm very frustrated, but I'll try not to waste a single day in getting back to playing basketball," the 29-year-old Tokashiki said.

Tokashiki played three seasons with the Seattle Storm in the WNBA from 2015 through 2018.
