Japanese attacker Daichi Kamada fulfilled one of his objectives for the season when he netted late to give Eintracht Frankfurt a 2-1 away victory against Wolfsburg in the German first division on Saturday.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder, who can also play as a forward, reached 10 goals across all competitions this season with the winning strike at Volkswagen Arena.

"We got three vital points, while I achieved the target of double-digit goals which I set for myself before the season," the Japan international posted on his Twitter account.

After Wolfsburg's Kevin Mbabu canceled out an early lead established from the penalty spot by Frankfurt's Andre Silva, Kamada slotted home at close range in the 85th minute off a knockdown from Bas Dost.

The goal was his second in as many games and second overall in the Bundesliga, which resumed in mid-May after shutting down two months earlier due to the coronavirus pandemic.

An alumni of J-League side Sagan Tosu, Kamada scored six goals in Europa League competition and two in the German Cup prior to the suspension of play.

"I'll do my best to add to my total, as I still haven't scored many in the Bundesliga," said Kamada, who struck his sole international goal in a 6-0 World Cup qualifying win against Mongolia in October.

Veteran center-back and former Japan captain Makoto Hasebe started his second straight game for Frankfurt, who moved five points clear of the relegation zone with six games remaining.

In the Serbian top flight, Japanese forward Takuma Asano notched his fourth goal of the season in Partizan Belgrade's 4-1 win over Mladost Lucani.
