ROME - The Italian government said Thursday the number of deaths from the new coronavirus has reached 148 while more than 3,800 people have been infected with the virus.
The number of deaths jumped by 41 from the previous day, while the number of people testing positive for the virus increased by 769 to 3,858, the government said.
The Lombardy region in northern Italy reported the highest number of cases at 2,251, followed by Emilia-Romagna at 698.
