A British man who tested positive for the new coronavirus on the cruise ship Diamond Princess has died, the Japanese health ministry said Friday.

The man, who had been hospitalized, is the first foreign national from the virus-hit vessel quarantined in Yokohama, near Tokyo, to be confirmed dead due to the virus.

The death toll related to the ship rose to six, while more than 700 infections have been reported. <full story>
