Elusive artist Banksy unveiled Monday a new artwork, a Christmas-themed mural in Birmingham highlighting homelessness.

The piece features two reindeer that have been spray painted on a brick wall and which appear to pull a bench as a sleigh.

A video post on Banksy's Instagram account shows a homeless man named Ryan lying down on the bench with his possessions.

The post said, "God bless Birmingham. In the 20 minutes we filmed Ryan on this bench passers-by gave him a hot drink, two chocolate bars and a lighter - without him ever asking for anything."

The post was viewed some 2.5 million times in the first 11 hours since it was posted.

The BBC reported that despite barriers being installed to protect the mural, a person managed to jump over them and sprayed red noses on the reindeers.
