Japanese midfielder Ryota Morioka netted the opener in Charleroi's 4-0 win at Waasland-Beveren on Saturday with his third goal of the young season.

In other Belgian first-division action, Japanese goalkeeper Daniel Schmidt helped Sint-Truiden hold on to a 2-0 victory over Yuta Toyokawa and Eupen.

Japanese forward Yuma Suzuki, who recently transferred from J-League first-division side Kashima Antlers, made his first appearance for Sint-Truiden late in the second half.

In the Scottish Premiership, Japanese forward Ryotaro Meshino debuted for Hearts in their 2-2 draw at home with Hamilton. Meshino had only just arrived from Japan on Friday.

Meshino was loaned to the Scottish club on a season-long deal from English side Manchester City, which he joined last month.
