Rui Hachimura top-scored with 25 points Thursday to lead the Washington Wizards to a 76-71 win over the Atlanta Hawks at NBA Summer League.

Following mixed results in his first two games, the Japanese-born rookie gave his most impressive performance so far at the Las Vegas showcase, shooting 9-for-12 including 2-of-3 from three.

He also grabbed nine rebounds, blocked a pair of shots and dished an assist while logging a team-high 32 minutes.

With versatile scoring and solid defense, Hachimura showed his potential to become a strong two-way player for the Wizards.

The 21-year-old forward demonstrated his physical strength early in the third quarter as he fought through contact from opposing center Bruno Fernando to score at the rim and earn a shot at a three-point play.

The Wizards finished with two wins and two losses following the preliminary round of Summer League, an off-season proving ground for the NBA's youngsters and unsigned players.
