Teenage sensation Takefusa Kubo scored a goal in each half Saturday as J-League first-division leaders FC Tokyo bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 3-1 win against Oita Trinita.

The 17-year-old playmaker, who is preparing to enter his first senior Japan national team camp, put the hosts up 2-0 late in the first half at Ajinomoto Stadium before completing his brace in stoppage time.

FC Tokyo controlled the flow of the game and had several more chances to score as they righted the ship following their 1-0 upset away to Cerezo Osaka last weekend.

Kenta Hasegawa's side, who have been on top of the J1 table since round eight, took the lead in the 30th minute on a header from Kento Hashimoto.

Kubo, named in the Samurai Blue squad for the Copa America starting this month in Brazil, doubled the lead nine minutes later with a well-taken individual goal.

The attacking midfielder pounced on a loose ball inside halfway and dribbled into the box before firing a deflected shot past Oita goalkeeper Shun Takagi.

Ado Onaiwu pulled a goal back for the visitors in the 59th minute, hooking a shot past FC Tokyo keeper Akihiro Hayashi from the top left of the box.

Kubo once again showed quick thinking to bring up his second goal. With Oita desperately pushing forward in search of a late equalizer, he pressured Thai midfielder Thitipan Puangchan into a bad back-pass, then intercepted the ball and rolled it past an out-of-position Takagi from 35 meters out.

The goal was the fifth across all competitions this season for the former Barcelona youth player, who has scored in three straight home games.

"The previous round (loss) was disappointing, but I think we got back to playing to our strengths and showing what FC Tokyo football is about," Kubo said. "I feel like I'm in good form at the moment and I want to keep it going for the national team."

Hasegawa was effusive in his praise for the young star, who could earn his first Samurai Blue cap in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday.

"His performance today was fantastic," Hasegawa said. "(It) should give him confidence in playing for the national team."

Kubo gave a dazzling display of his dribbling ability early in the second half, wrong-footing his man before chipping a short cross from the right of the area that Yojiro Takahagi sent over the bar.

In other first-division matches, Consadole Sapporo beat Sanfrecce Hiroshima 1-0 on a second-half goal form Ryota Hayasaka. The hosts played the last three minutes plus stoppage time at Sapporo Dome with 10 men after Lucas Fernandes was sent off.

Shun Nagasawa scored a second-half brace at Yurtec Stadium as Vegalta Sendai beat Nagoya Grampus 3-1.

Vissel Kobe drew 1-1 with Jubilo Iwata at Shizuoka Stadium Ecopa after taking the lead in the third minute and conceding the equalizer in the 93rd.

Vissel, who last week snapped a nine-game league and league cup losing streak, allowed the goal a minute after being reduced to 10 men with the sending off of Brazilian defender Dankler.

Cerezo picked up their second straight win, beating Sagan Tosu 1-0 on the road following a first-half goal from Bruno Mendes.

In the late matches, last-place Shimizu S-Pulse drew 1-1 at Matsumoto Yamaga with both goals coming on penalty kicks, while second-place Kawasaki Frontale were held 1-1 at home on a 95th-minute equalizer from Urawa Reds' Ryota Moriwaki. Kashima Antlers drew at Gamba Osaka by the same score.
