U.S. President Donald Trump met Emperor Naruhito on Monday as the first world leader to have an audience with the new Japanese monarch after his ascension on May 1, and listened to the families of Japanese nationals abducted by North Korean agents in the 1970s and 1980s, vowing to help secure their return.
