A U.S. envoy aims to meet with North Korean officials on or around Feb. 4 at the truce village of Panmunjeom to discuss details of a planned second summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in late February, a U.S. report said Tuesday.

Politico ran the report, citing a person familiar with the issue. But it did not say who Stephen Biegun, U.S. special representative to North Korea, would meet on the border separating the two Koreas.

The Trump administration has floated Vietnam as a potential venue for a second summit, but North Korea has not agreed to such an idea, Politico said, quoting the person familiar with the issue and a South Korean diplomatic source.

Vietnamese leaders have expressed willingness to host the summit, with Danang and Hanoi possible venues, it said.

Hanoi would be the likeliest of the two, if North Korea plans an official state visit with the Vietnamese government before a Trump-Kim meeting.

Trump met Kim for the first-ever U.S.-North Korea summit last June in Singapore, in which Kim pledged to work toward "complete" denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
