Meticulously choreographed parades and "mass games" in the heart of Pyongyang commemorating the 70th founding anniversary of North Korea continued in the evening of Sept. 10.

In contrast to the smiling, brightly-dressed people who filled the same square the previous day, serious-looking young students in uniforms of a white shirt and red tie marched holding torches.

 

Simultaneous shouts of "hooray" rumbled in the air of Kim Il Sung Square, the city's landmark bearing the name of the country's founder.

The slogan "Great Victory" emerges in the dark as students in the square form human letters using torches.
