Sydney was transformed into a sea of colors and light Friday, as the harbor city switched on its lights for the Vivid Sydney festival.

According to New South Wales State Premier Gladys Berejiklian, last year over 2.3 million people attended the festival, injecting over A$143 million (US$108.3 million) into the state's economy.
