Three former members of disbanded Japanese pop idol unit SMAP jointly launched their fan club Friday, a lawyer representing them said.

According to the lawyer, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, 43, Goro Inagaki, 43, and Shingo Katori, 40, have also created an official fan site "Atarashii Chizu," meaning new map.

The site features a 50-second video with brief messages such as "Let's escape from things that tie you down," as well as their biographies and information on how to join the fan club.

The five-member male group broke up at the end of last year with the three leaving the talent agency Johnny & Associates earlier this month. Masahiro Nakai, 45, and Takuya Kimura, 44, remain with the agency.

The website will be fully up and running on Oct. 16.
