Break dancer B-Boy STEEZ secured his passage to the final qualification round for the breaking world finals with victory at Japan qualifier the Red Bull BC One Japan Cypher in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Sunday.  STEEZ shone out in the field of 16 finalists at Kawasaki’s Le FRONT, all vying for the chance to go on to compete in breaking’s premier showcase of one-on-one dance battles, the Red Bull BC One to be held this year in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

STEEZ will now join qualifiers from some 35 “cyphers” held around the globe to compete in Amsterdam for the last spot available at the Red Bull BC One World Finals on November 4.

Competition at this kind of level will not be unfamiliar to STEEZ.  The Kawasaki native is a member of break dance crew The Floorriorz who have claimed victory at the last two editions of the Battle of the Year held annually in Germany.  The crew’s victory in 2015 made them the first from Japan to do so.

Should STEEZ go on to qualify for the Amsterdam finals, he’ll be joined by reigning world champion and compatriot Issei who took out the world finals in front of a home crowd in Nagoya.
