J-POP SUMMIT, one of the world’s biggest Japanese pop culture events, returns for 2017 with a diverse line-up of Japanese ramen chefs, sake producers, and other food and drink vendors to be featured in the San Francisco Bay Area event next month.

2017 will be the 9th edition of an event which first began showcasing Japanese culture and trends in the Bay Area in 2009 under the mission to “create an open playground of discovery and diversion inspired by the wonders of Japanese pop culture.”  Having grown in popularity and scale over the years, the festival has gone on to become a launchpad for new trends coming out of Japan.  To accommodate increasing visitor numbers the “summit” moved to the Fort Mason Center For Arts and Culture’s Festival Pavilion in 2015. The event has also given rise to the Japan Film Festival of San Francisco, the first of its kind to be held in Northern California,

For 2017 the two-day slate of Japanese food and drink is set to be paired alongside an extensive roster of attractions, participants, exhibits, and other live performances over September 9 and 10.
