Former U.S. basketball star Dennis Rodman said in an interview with ABC News aired Friday that he will travel to North Korea again in August and may have a chance to meet the country's leader Kim Jong Un.

"I think the next time we go, I think it's going to be in August. I think the fact that when...I sit there and talk to him...he'll throw comments out there," Rodman said of Kim. "You know, he'll say, 'I want three things, Dennis, from you, if you can do this for us.'"

Rodman made a five-day trip to North Korea last week, after which he said it was "very good" but refrained from disclosing if he and Kim had met in person.

In the interview, Rodman, who calls Kim a friend, said, "people don't see...the good side about that country." He called on President Donald Trump to join him in creating peace with North Korea.

Rodman, who won five National Basketball Association championships with the Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls in the 1980 and 1990s, was a cast member for two seasons of Trump's pre-presidency "Celebrity Apprentice" reality TV show.
